Activities
Objectives:
- To give children ample opportunities for self-expression.
- To teach social cooperation y providing experiences in group living.
- To make children aware of their social responsibilities.
- To prepare children for better leadership and fellowship.
- To develop in children high standards of aesthetic sense, ethics, discipline, sportsmanship and social spirit.
- To give children training in democratic citizenship.
1. House System:
To facilitate healthy competition and co-operation among students, the entire school is divided into four houses(SHIVAJI,TAGORE,ASHOKA,RAMAN). Inter-house competitions are conducted in Literary and Cultural activities and in Games and Sports.
2. Literary Activities:
Public speaking and formal debating are the two main forms of oral expression in which systematic training is given. The school magazine manuscript magazine serves as a medium for written expression competition at inter KV level in activities like declamation, debate, drama, painting are also conducted for which training is given to the students.
3. Dramatic & Cultural Activities:
Regular training is given in Acting, dance and music during C.C.A periods. Most of these activities culminate on the Annual Day.
4. Games and Sports:
Coaching is given for boys and girls in Hockey, Volleyball, Cricket and Football. Competitions in games and sports are conducted at Regional and National Levels.
5. Club Activities:
To enable students to develop their latent talents and interests, Science Club, Nature Club, Adventure Club, Library Club CYBER club , DISHA club & UNESCO Club conduct their activities periodically.
6. Excursion and Picnics:
Children are taken on educational trips to places of interest.
7. Audio-Visual Shows:
Films of educational value are screened with the co-operation of Birla Science Centre and the Directorate of Field publicity.
8. Cubs / Bulbuls / Scouts & Guides:
Quite a good number of students are enrolled for this activity. These activities prepare students for later life and give them an exposure to various social activities such as Scout / Guides rallies and camps. Students also prepare for Rashtrapati Puraskar testing.
Campus, cubs and bulbuls from primary classes are also a part of this scout and guide movement in the school.
