Activities carried out under common minimum programme
Community Lunch
Socialization teaches habits, ideas, attitudes and values. Understanding the role of school in cultivating healthy food habits and avoiding wastage of food, a monthly ‘Community Lunch Programme’ of every Class is organized by the respective class teachers. The Programme helps in inculcating the values of good eating habits in the class inclusive of Students with diverse socio-cultural background and sharing with them.
Spoken English and Reading Cards
To strengthen English as a medium of communication amongst students, maximum usage of English as a language has been made mandatory. To encourage children , students are grouped together in each class with a group leader monitoring, correcting and guiding the group with their difficulties. Under the guidance of all the teachers the students are encouraged to talk only in English. In this regard the Lingua-phone and reading cards are being used apart from other story telling, and educational C.Ds for enhancing spoken English.
Star Badges
Class-wise morning assembly is being presented by students from class I onwards. Teachers ensure that the standard is maintained with maximum participation from each class. To encourage the students of Primary section a novel idea of ‘STAR BADGES’ is introduced by the Principal, Mr. S. Ajaya Kumar, every week a star Badge is awarded to a boy and a girl from each class on the basis of their overall performance.
Grand Parents' Day
The day was celebrated on 15th September 2008 Ex-Assistant Commissioner, Bhopal Region, Mr. V.K.Agrawal, grandfather of one of our student, was invited as the chief guest. More than 300 grandparents attended and enjoyed the cultural Programme presented by the children. An exhibition of arts and craft was displayed in the Resource Room. A Mehandi corner was set up where the grand parents enjoyed Mehandi being applied on their palms. The day ended with lots of fun frolic and eateries.
Math's Clinic
This unique and motivating project was conceived by the Principal, Mr.S. AjayaKumar and implemented by the H.M.Mrs. Shobha Deshpande PRT Mrs. Naidu and Mrs. Veena. The students of class XI as Doctors and Nurses and students of class V, with difficulty in math’s work on every Thursday morning and Saturday afternoon in this clinic. The response to this Programme is overwhelming and very positive. There is a marked improvement in the performance of class V students. This is further encouraging the teachers to organize more such programmes for other classes too.
Hindi Pakhawada
To encourage maximum use of Hindi, the ‘Hindi Pakhawada ‘ was celebrated during 14th Sept 2008 to 30th Sept 2008. Various programmes were conducted in Hindi to promote our Rashtrabhasha. Some of these programmes were ‘Suvichar lekhan’, ‘Hindi calligraphy’, ‘Hindi action songs’ and ‘group dances’. Interesting, colorful and value based Hindi story books were distributed as prizes.
Balmela
A cluster level 3 days Balmela was organized from 13th November to 15th Nov 2008 at KV No.1, Colaba. 62 children from classes III, IV and V participated in various cultural, sports and bulbul-cubs activities. 7 of our students brought laurels to our school.

Our Cubs team own 2nd prize for ‘Den Making Our sports team was awarded 3rd position in ‘March Past’
Cubs and Bulbuls
There are 30 Bulbuls and 10 cubs actively participating every Thursday. Apart from their regular activities ‘Vanmahotsav Day’ was celebrated by planting saplings. 10 Bulbuls and 10 cubs participated in ‘Balmela’ organized in KV, No.1, Colaba and Our Cubs team own 2nd prize for ‘Den Making'
Excursions
To take a step ahead in our informal learning, excursions were organized for the Primary classes in this Academic year. Classes I and II went to N.A.D. Bird’s sanctuary. Colourful birds, in their natural habitats made them keen observers. Classes III, IV and V witnessed baking of biscuits in Parle Biscuit Factory at Ville-Parle. The children were fascinated to see loads of Melody chocolates. Fresh warm biscuit packets were the special gifts from the manufacturers to all the children. It was an enjoyable, informative and fun-filled day for the children.
Resource Room
Resource Room is full of all the resourceful things that our teachers need for conducting various activities in their classes. It is equipped with L.C.D. projector, Computer, Over head projector, 29” Television set, hundreds of Educational C.D.s, Films from ‘Children’s Film Society ‘ C.D.s of series of ‘National Geographic’ as well as Power-Point Presentations prepared by each and every Primary teacher along with charts, maps, masks, models, globe etc. A proper time table has been prepared to enable every teacher to take her class in the Resource Room and record of the same is maintained.
Medical Check-up
The annual medical check-up was conducted on 24th and 25th September 2008. Dr. Deepa Rajpal and Dr. Rashid Badar, along with their assistants successfully conducted the two days camp. 660 children went through the medical check up. Parents were informed about the same and requested to take care where ever required and necessary. Teachers are taking precautions in following up such cases./p>
Sports Day
Our annual Sports day was held on 18th December 2998. Mr J.N.Lonwal, presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Some of the sports event such as ‘Sack Race and ‘Get Ready For School’ were organized on the sports day. Most of the students from each class of Primary section participated in various sports events. 102 students won medals in various individual sports events and 188 students won cup in many team events. Primary students presented a fancy musical drill and Lesium the theme of National integration.
