Scouts & Guides 2010-11
On 2nd October, Kendriya Vidyalaya Mankhurd celebrated Mahatma Gandhi's birthday by following his principles. 24 scouts and 20 guides participated in 'Shram Daan'. The programme commenced with flag hosting by the principal Sh. S Ajaya Kumar followed by by 'Sarvadharan Prathana i.e all religion Prayer. Children were made aware of precious contribution of Mahatma. Patriotic songs yells were other attraction. In his speech principal Sh Ajaya Kumar highlighted great works of Mahatma and advised to follow right path. Vice Principal Mrs. Ashalata Goenkar highlighted advantages of virtues over vices.
The celebration ended with the plantation and watering of plants.

Pre Rajya Puraskar testing Camp was conducted on 21/07/2011 and 22/07/2011
KV Mankhurd was the venue school for this testing camp wherein Scouts and Guides from various Kendriya Vidyalayas of Mumbai Region had participated.
Two scouts and three Guides from KV Mankhurd attended the Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp at Bangalore.

Two Scouts, Mast. Sebastian George(XIB),Mast.Amit Katare(XIB) and two Guides, Kum.Suchitra(XIC) and Kum.Dona Zakharia(X C) of our Vidyalaya had successfully completed their Rajya Puraskar testing Camp,at Dehu Road, Pune.
One scout, Mast. Sebastian George(XIB) and two Guides, Kum.Dona Zakharia(X C) and Kum.Aequra Khan(IX A) of our Vidyalaya represented Mumbai region as participants for the National 'JAMBOREE' at Hydrebad in December-10 - January-11.
Scouting and guiding movement prepares our students to be alert and self-reliant citizens.
Quite a good number of students are enrolled for this activity. These activities prepare students for later life and give them an exposure to various social activities such as Scout / Guides rallies and camps. Students also prepare for Rashtrapati Puraskar testing. Campus, cubs and bulbuls from primary classes are also a part of this scout and guide movement in the school.
Scouts and Guides activities are conducted throughout the year under which 3 units of scouts (32*3=96) and 2 units of guides (32 *2=64) are given training with the trained scout masters and guide captains 10 students have filled the form for Rashtrapati Award who have already Qualified Rajya Puraskar.The activities are running under the able guidance of the Principal of the Vidyalaya.
